The Ordinance
Texas Churches vs. the Payday Loan Industry
TRAILER
SYNOPSIS
In Texas, nonprofits and cities are taking unprecedented action to fight the payday loan industry and protect the poor. The Ordinance is a documentary that examines the payday loan and auto title loan industry while also following a small Texas town that is fighting for change. In a time when political disillusionment is growing this story serves as an important example of how the best, and worst, of our political system can unite a community.
The film documents the first issue ever that had Catholics, Southern Baptists, and Cooperative Baptists worked together on at a national level. After more than 500 screenings across the country, the film is now available to view on Amazon video.
