Free Burma Rangers was a small film with a massive impact. Funded by donations, it reached 7 million people and helped 3x the Free Burma Rangers budget for their ministry’s frontline aid. Through the film, audiences worldwide were moved from a needed example of faith, praying boldly, and serving the Lord on the frontlines of war. Now, it’s time to take the story further.
Here’s what The Chosen’s producer, Chad Gunderson, has to say about this exciting new project:
“As a Producer for The Chosen, I was so grateful to see the first film, Free Burma Rangers (FBR) , where modern-day disciples reflect His story with the hope that doesn’t show up in other war films or documentaries. Deidox has excellent storytellers and filmmakers involved in their work. I was on the edge of my seat!
Years later, I met one of the Directors, Brent Gudgel. He told me that the Deidox team is fundraising to complete more than a film. Their next project is a docuseries about FBR and the Eubank family. After the first film, imagine getting the answers to questions like, “How are the Eubank kids experiencing faith after growing up near war zones?” and “What new stories have unfolded for the family and FBR in the United States, Burma, the Middle East, and Ukraine?”
I highly recommend that you contribute to helping this group of storytellers in any way you can, and I am in the discernment process as to how I can continue to engage as well in the midst of finishing another season of The Chosen.”
The Project: An 8-Episode TV Series
THE UNDISCOVERED LAND builds on the fire sparked by the acclaimed documentary Free Burma Rangers, unleashing an 8 part docu-series that plunges viewers into four more years of never-before-seen warfare and faith-filled wonder. With unprecedented access, Deidox Films takes you straight into the heart of multiple active war zones, capturing raw moments where faith and courage collide amid chaos and danger.
But this time, the stakes are different. The Eubank children are no longer just following their parents—they’re coming of age between minefields and mission fields, forced to decide if this dangerous calling is truly their own. When the family returns stateside, they face a different kind of warfare: classrooms hostile to their faith, a culture that questions their choices, and the weight of inheriting a legacy written in scars and sacrifice.
In this high stakes tv series, the Eubanks will discover that dodging bullets is easier than dodging betrayal. Government officials they trusted turn against them, while their own missionary community threatens to pull their credentials—both with the potential to shut down their ministry.
As Dave and Karen fight a war on multiple fronts, their children stand at a crossroads: embrace a calling where yesterday’s allies become tomorrow’s accusers, or choose a faith that doesn’t demand this kind of courage. Between broken promises and new wars, one question remains: is God calling the children deeper into danger, or is it their father’s shadow they’re chasing into the darkness?
